Re: Flash Question/Help
Are you talking about the picture, with the little news bit under it? The one on the home page? If that is what you are talking about then that is just motion tweening the images and text. No big at all. If that is not what you are talking about please give me a bit more detail about where I can find it on the page. If you need help on tweening the stuff I would be glad to upload a simple Fla version for you to keep. Let me know!!

Re: Flash Question/Help
Thats part of it.
I've tried to look more into it and have discovered the following. Basically there are five stories. Each has a thumbnail at the bottom that when clicked change the main story. Or the main story cycles through on a timer in the middle with pause and fast forward or reverse buttons. It looks like the flash file pulls froma xml file that tells it the main image, thumbnail image and text. This way the flash file doesn't need to be changed constantly just the xml file. This is probably way to advanced for me but I thought I would ask. Thanks. |

Re: Flash Question/Help
OK really it is just some motion tweening and some buttons. That's what it looks like to me anyway. You have your buttons link to the news item. Then in ActionScript tell the time line after so 60 sec gotoandPlay frame whatever. Then it plays the motion tween into the next frame. If you really wanted to have the files be stored in an xml file you could do that as well. That would be a lot more difficult. The reason you would do this is so that it would not take as long to update. This would require allot more action scripting. For that the tween would have to be a generic tween. Which when I looked at the file I noticed that it was a generic tween. By that I mean same tween for each picture. It just fades into the next picture. The xml file stores the text and the link to the picture in it. Then you just have to tell flash to display the picture here, and the text here. This should not be all that complicated. But I would recommend starting without the xml file, as you can always add it on later.

Re: Flash Question/Help
Thanks for your help. I'm slowly working my way through this program. You said earlier that you had a FLA file that you could send me showing me the tweening. I think I can do that but every bit of help would be great.
Thanks. |
