Re: hits counter :D

Hit counters aren't that popular anymore and tend to only be on n00b sites these days.
If you want to get one and give that impression, that's fine.
Otherwise, I'd steer clear.
It's possible to see how many people are visiting your site, without showing it to Joe Public, and you may find it's already set up in your package with your host.

Re: hits counter :D

Want to track your visitors and hits, just use an invisible Statcounter code.
Counters are so 1980's

wow 671kb for that image on the homepage...
your site is screaming out for a counter... you can still use Statcounter to display one with pretty colours.

Re: hits counter :D

Man, people sure get opinionated quickly around here. Read his post again and tell me where it asks "Should I use a hit counter" or "Is my front page image to big". Lay off this guy people and stick to post at hand.

bruno89, there are endless hit counter options out there. Do a google search and find one you like. They are easy to install, just use the code supplied by the hit counter creator.

Well, I tend not presume anything, unless the person claims to be a web designer, where certain things typically can be safely assumed (although often wrong as well, but shouldn't be).

I didn't say anything about you NOT answering him. Just leave the unsolicited advice out of it. This isn't the critique forum.

Re: hits counter :D

Now, now you pair...

Anyway.

I do have to agree that no site really needs a visible hit counter. They are old fashioned and no one really cares about them anymore.

If you really want to track the number of hits your site has had then track it behind the scenes.

Dan.

Craig is just angry because he got out flashed by this guy http://www.angelfire.com/super/badwebs/main.htm

Anywho to stay on topic, there are many hit counter solutions out there. Depends on your needs. Perhaps if you told us your specific needs/wants one of us can find one for you.
