eps file help

If someone could help me with a file issue...

A client has a logo from another party in .eps format.

I cannot open it with the 5 programs I have.

We cannot go back to the original source for a new file.

I believe it can be opened. It may take an adobe product and or a MAC to open.

I need to get the the file in JPG format and I can take it from there.

If you can help, I'll email the file to you.

Thanks!!

David

Re: eps file help

Word can open it.
Acrobat can convert it to a .pdf file.

Once opened, you could use [PrtScn] key to save it to your clipboard, and then open it with whatever image software you have available.

Re: eps file help

Tried it - says preview unavaialble. Corel Draw 9 will not open it either. There are two eps file - differernt sizes. I do not have adobe. If you do, I would could send you the files and if you could return a .jpg in the 1200px range, I would be good to go

I think the problem is on my side...

Thanks for the reply!!

David

Re: eps file help

Adobe Acrobat is freeware.

Open it in that and then screenshot it [PrtScn] which copies the image of your screen to your clipboard (think that's as a bmp, if not it'll be a jpg).

Open a new document in your graphic programme and use [Ctrl + V] to paste the last thing saved to your clipboard into it.

Then you can save it in whatever format you software allows.

[edit: how big's the file?]

Re: eps file help

I tired adobe and got the message "file not supported... or damaged (ie sent as an email attachment and not correctly decoded) "

It was an email attachment and I think this is the problem.

The two files - same logo - are 718kb and 79kb.

Thanks

David

Re: eps file help

At the very top of the page there's a blue horizontal bar which says, "hello ppgpilot. You have 1 unread messages in your inbox."
That's the one I sent you.
Click it and you'll see the details I sent you.

Re: eps file help

I have replied to your email.

Just for everyone else;
I suspect the files may be corrupted.

I've tried to open them with Adobe Reader, Word, and PhotoShop.
All these app's should be able to access them but none seem able to.

Reader implied that there had been damage to the original files during an interrupted email transmission which I presume to be when pilot received them as the problem also seems to have begun at this point.
