PHP configuration problem. (or it could be Apache or XAMPP!)

I hope someone can help me. I've just installed XAMPP so that I can move into using php in my sites. But it doesn't seem to work. The example pages supplied with XAMPP work fine. I can even use the biorhythms graph! But when I try writing my own php pages and view them in a browser they don't show the php snippets, just blank space.

Please help. It's driving me insane.

Craig

Are the scripts working ok? Make sure you have error handling turned on.

Thanks for your reply, but I've fixed the problem now. php works lovely and I feel really stupid for not passing the php files through my server by typing localhost in the url bar instead of the path through my document folders. Hahaha. Sorry to have wasted your time, and thanks again anyway.

Re: PHP configuration problem. (or it could be Apache or XAMPP!)

Hi! My name is Tanya. I've got a problem with PHP5.1.3, Apache2.0.58 and Oracle XE configuration. I know they are installed correctly as I received a page full of php conf. when I tested phpinfo(). But the problem is there 's no "oci8" section among them. Actually, PHP doesn't want to talk to Oracle. I downloaded Pecl modules as well and unzipped them to c:/php/extention but it didn't help also. So I don't know what to do. Could you help me, please?

Don't feel too bad. I spent 15 minutes getting redfaced because my php code wasn't working right when I accessed it on my hard drive to test it before upload. (I don't have php installed on my computer).
