Re: New Recipe Site

The only recipe I see here is a recipe for disaster! lol, not really... but

Those graphics are far to amature to give anything to the site. They are badly drawn and the perspective is shot to hell.

The colours are pretty good saying that.

This site could be really cool given the right amount of work was put in. I'm a bit of a chef myself so I think a Really good quality Food site would be great.

Are you going to allow members to upload their own recipes? that would be cool.

Re: New Recipe Site

Thanks minute44, I will change all the graphics i think, cos i just did htem in paint realy quickly so i could get an idea of what it would look like. And yes people are allowed to submit recipes, thats the whole idea of the site, so its a sort of cooking community. People will also be able to submit comments on recipes, rate them and also submit cooking tips.

Re: New Recipe Site

ps, that bread recipe you have is missing 2 vital ingredients salt and sugar, salt activates the yeast and sugar is more for flavour, and the water has to be warm, not cold or hot ( people would not be able to guess this ) the flour, i would recammend a strong bread flour and last whether you want them to use fresh or dry yeast

also you need to add more directions like kneading, cooking times, and amounts ( very important ) otherwise you are going to end up with just a flat clump that is no good for eating,

Re: New Recipe Site

Saltedm8. Ive seen you on the jamie oliver + nora's kitchen forums havent i? And that recipe i just stuck it on there so i could see what it woould look like with a real recipe because in the end that page wont exist because people will submit their own recipes. Thanks for your offer of a template bu i think im just gonna develop my design, and i will eventualy add a forum to mine aswell.

Do you have any suggestions design wise?

Re: New Recipe Site

yea, i am a member of both, design-wise i would say to centre the page because i think it looks a bit tacky with all that page over to the left and space on the right

Re: New Recipe Site

Perhaps once its running you could submit some recipes for me aswell, that would be cool to get it going.

I'll get some on there too if you like. I'm mainly into either Thai or Itallian food.
