Cool Trouble with absolute positioning

I havn't used absolute positioning much, and i'm using it to position some drop down menu's on my site...
When the menu's drop down, certain block elements such as form elements and embedded objects appear over the drop down rather than beneath it.
You can see what i mean by going here The Barrier Miner Newspaper - News and clicking archives. If i move the drop downs to the left or right more, they appear underneath the flash objects on the right but on the contact page they appear above the form objects. The drop downs don't appear in firefox because they use the visibility style attribute to make them apprear.
I know when i signed up i agreed to strictly not advertise i hope this does not fall under advertising as i am providing an example.

Re: Trouble with absolute positioning

They all appear under the banner in my IE6.
I visited several pages with the same result.
Couldn't see the problem you indicate anywhere.

Re: Trouble with absolute positioning

The problem currently only occurs on the archives page. When you put your mouse over the design link a menu drops down. It flows under the form objects within this page. I think it has something to do with nesting maybe ive got my stacking order wrong i havn't really looked into it.

Re: Trouble with absolute positioning

Afraid that didn't work, i made the elements positioned absolute, wether i set the distance of pixels or not it still appears below the form objects even if it has a greater z index......
