Re: My thread was deleted

That's my fault; I was about to PM you when the network here at work went a little whacky. One thing led to another... I hadn't had the time to PM you since.

We don't allow forum posts where a person asks for work, only those where a person/business is looking for a designer/developer to hire.

If we have missed others like this, we usually get to them quickly.

Re: My thread was deleted

I understand, but ones like this have been there for 6 weeks. http://www.webforumz.com/web-design-...r-for-hire.htm

I also, think it's not a bad idea to allow people to post there availability.

Re: My thread was deleted

Thank you for bringing that thread to our attention, sometimes I/we don't catch them all.

Regarding it being a bad idea in general, it's because members posting their availability can get quite overblown, as just about everyone has a skill they'd like to be paid for. They often lead to nothing; empty threads, bigger database, etc.

When a person/business posts that they need to hire someone, the resulting "transaction" is, well, a transaction. It's almost a certainty that members will PM the person/company and it will go somewhere.

Re: My thread was deleted

I hear you, i guess it does generate alot of spam.

I still would'nt mind, a place to post things for sale, templates, full sites etc, and just limit it to 1 post a week to avoid it being flooded.

Yeah, that would be cool. Who knows what the future holds, but I'm sure the major thing holding it back is the ability to control it.
