help - shifting div tags!
hey there,
i am currently working on a website for a local festival. its work in progress but need to get it live asap. i am working in dreamweaver - using templates and div layout controlled by css. this is a bit of a departure as i have always been 'table girl' and have been really trying to get the hang of using CSS layouts. anyhows ... for the massive diary of events i have had to resort to generating a table with a simple listing at: http://www.fromefestival.co.uk/2006/events/index.html BUT - for some reason the base div content flips up to the right hand side. am seriously low on sleep so is probably something daft. any advice or input much appreciated. cheers for now. ps css available via: http://www.fromefestival.co.uk/2006/..._nosidebar.css and http://www.fromefestival.co.uk/2006/...ival_diary.css |

Re: help - shifting div tags!
It is fine in my IE7. Very nice-looking site, btw
I'd strongly suggest evening out the spacers in the vertical nav list at the top -- it will make the dates easier to read. I might even try a monospace fontface and see how it looks. If you continue to have a problem with the footer, put an empty div just before the footer with {clear: both;}, and extend both of them the width of the wrapper (or at least wider than the widest column). Also, I don't want to go through the source line by line, but I'd expect to see a </div> ending just before the footer. You don't want to inherit a float in IE. |

thanks for the input and appreciation of the site - so nice to hear after working into many wee hours.
managed to get a bit of sleep and discovered the solution of adding clear: both; to the CSS a little earlier this morning - thats done the trick nicely. will be sure to have a fiddle about with the menu spacing. jimz - cheers for checking on other browsers haven't done a full test yet - so good to know. |
