jpg load via xml file quality settings
hello,
I have a quick question. Is it true that if you load in jpg's into a flashmovie via xml that the quality is kinda bad? Or am I doing something wrong? When I use jpg's in a flash movie via the library, the default quality is set to 50% quality from import,I can change this to 100% quality if I choose. Is something similar possible for jpg's you load via an XML file? excuse my bad english I hope I ve made myself clear, thanks Marieke |

Re: jpg load via xml file quality settings
I dont think so, when you are loading images via xml, it will show the quality that you have saved in your desired program

Re: jpg load via xml file quality settings
Yes, I need a way to resize the jpg's in the xml loading process. Isn't there a script somewhere which can resize loadMovie jpg's? E.g. I have a 2Mb photo, but only a 150x150px place on my webpage? How can I make this photo fit?

Re: jpg load via xml file quality settings
Why you dont use photoshop or other image editing softwares to reduce the size ?!

Re: jpg load via xml file quality settings
Yes I did that. But when I resize from 1200x1200px to let's say 300x300px then the quality goes bad. I want to scale them rather than resize them.
Btw. I use the GIMP :P |

Re: jpg load via xml file quality settings
I didnt use GIMP, but usually when you want to scale something for example in photoshop , it will let you choose to resample pixels or not, maybe there is an option like this in GIMP too
what is your source resolution, i mean DPI ? btw, usually when we are resampling an image which is small to make it bigger its quality goes bad, you are doing vise versa so it should not go bad !

Re: jpg load via xml file quality settings
oh I only now read your reply...
180dpi for a 1200px900px photo if I understand your question correctly I just checked another photo which was only 72dpi.. Last edited by ahwell; May 14th, 2008 at 22:02. |

Re: jpg load via xml file quality settings
You can easily resize it to 72dpi which is good for screen quality
