Frames and IFrames

Is it possible for a frame to resize itself, like a table? If the text inside exceeds the height of the frame, is it possible to force the frame to resize itself rather than scroll it?

Re: Frames and IFrames

not use frames?

Well I guess you could get some complicated javascript to resize the window baised on its content... but, it would be complicated and ugly. would be better to just not use frames.

Re: Frames and IFrames

I mean something I could use instead of frames to produce a similar effect. My problem is that every time I go to a new page on my site, the entire page re-loads, and for some the fact that several large images have to be re-loaded causes a bit of a lag. I'm just trying to design it so that those images don't re-load every time I move to a new page.

Re: Frames and IFrames

Well images should be cashed by the browser. Which means they shouldn't need to be reloaded each time you change pages.

Re: Frames and IFrames

Yes, yes, but I'm still getting some complaints of lag. I'm just wondering if there's some way to work around it anyway.

Re: Frames and IFrames

Includes won't help his load times tho,

What is the link to your site? Is hard to know exactly whats causeing the long load times unless we see the site.

Re: Frames and IFrames

How the crap can cached images cause slow loading times? Either every page has something new & big to download on it, and the visitor is being bogged down by it, or their browser isn't calling up the cached images properly.

Whats the URI?

Re: Frames and IFrames

Yeah, the best advice i can give you is not to use iframes or frames or any of that. Go with php includes. But before you do make sure your host suppots php eventhough most do some dont.
