It seems a bit bland to me, try adding a bit of depth to it?

Also the content gradient seems a bit dark to me.... a personal rule of mine is never to use pure black or white in designs, dark and light greys that look almost like black and white tend to work, but i find them easier on the eye.

What are you using to design this? windows or mac because you have to bear in mind that windows is darker than a mac.

Also your content text seems a bit big to me? Mainly because it's bigger than the nav?
