I haven't seen this done in football, bar the goal teleprinter updates.
I have seen it done for the Cricket though, however, cricket is a slower game and a ssuch allows you the time to update a site with a live feed. I think football moves to fast for this type of functionality, and I don;t think you woul dbe able to put across the speed and excitment into your posts if the game was moving quickly.
You still will need a WAG's section though

What about the name suggesstions:
- jumpers for goalposts
- funny old game
The second one shows that the site is about you and you comments, rather than latestes news etc, althought this will be a feature.
