hi,

this is the website i have designed for my cricket club, please can you critique help and point me in the right direction to make this a very good site i can be proud of.

i have had a weeks worth of css knowledge so my code isnt up to much and is causing me a few problems mostly doc type errors (the site doesnt have a doc type) when i add a doc type it throws the wepage around and i am unable to sort it out ... anyway i digress please take a look and let me know where i can make it better.

thank you for your time

gareth

Re: looking for some criticism

Reggy, some intitial feedback for you.

  • Although this looks great, I'm not sure the look of it fits in with a cricket club
  • Your navigation needs a rollover state on it so that people can see what they are doing
  • Your code is great, nice to see no tables on the layout, but you havn't placed a doctype in there, a huge error
  • You have also duplicated your page <title>
  • You have not <title> or <alt> tags on links and images
I hope that helps for starters

Re: looking for some criticism

It causes some horizontal scrolling in ff. And I also think the design is rather unrelated to the cricket team, i think a scrapbook theme or something would be more related.

Other than that, great design, you definitely have an eye for it.

Re: looking for some criticism

hi guys,

thanks for the replies.

i did add a doc type but had some problems with it aligning (it threw it off to the left in FF and the relative positioned divs in IE 7

apparently it doesnt work in IE6, i need to sort this out

where have i duplicated the <title>? i cant see the wood for the trees.

the cricket theme needs a stronger element i think, i will have to spend more time playing around over the next few days ( i have taken a dislike to the roll of honour on the front page i think it will be removed and something be put in its place)

again thanks for your replies most helpfull!
