Odd PHP error

So I have this script running on my development server.

PHP: Select all

<?php

class model_base {
    public
$columns = array();
    public
$validations = array();
    public
$cur_val 0;
    public
$prev_id 0;
    function
column($name$properties) {

$this->columns[$name] = $properties;
    }
.....
It works fine. But when I upload it to my actual server i get this error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in "myfile.php" on Line 4 (Line 4 is the "public $columns...." one)

You might not be able to figure it out with that snippet of code, so I'll have to do it myself. But what does that error mean?

Re: Odd PHP error

Weird. How come it works locally but not on the server? Wouldn't be anything to do with the server running a different version of PHP or something? Just a guess.
