Different PR on different datacentres
Ok, now I'm really baffled - just checked this link:
http://www.iwebtool.com/pagerank_che...ixelforge.net# and it provided me a list of google datacentres, with differing ranks, some really high, some ok, some low, some n/a. Soooo which one? and how can other PR checkers verify they're using the correct datacentre for the result? even our trusted site critique PR checker?

Re: Different PR on different datacentres
The real question is: which was the last data centre to be updated?
They are only different during this period of time when other data centres around the world have not yet been updated. If you know the answer to this question, then you know what PR "will be" accurate once all others have updated. it's very difficult to know for sure what your accurate PR is right now because Google has a network of data centres that are constantly being updated at different times... But, if you have PR1 for a while and now a few of the data centres report PR2, then chances are that all other data centres will eventually change to 3. Make sense?

The Last PR update took place on the 28th of February 2008. The PR of any website is calculated with a formula :
PR(A)=(1-d)+(PR OF LINK PAGE 1*D/NO OF LINKS IN PAGE1)+ (PR OF LINK PAGE 2*D/NO OF LINKS IN PAGE2)+.....+(PR OF LINK PAGE P*D/NO OF LINKS IN PAGE P). Where A,is your website D is a damping factor =0.85 link page 1,2...,P are the pages that has a link pointing to your website and can be found out by conducting a search on Google with link:www.website.com. Don't calculate it manually.Try the SEO calculator or check out other genuine online tools that help you to check your PR. |

Re: Different PR on different datacentres
erm... a formula is a bit useless without the data. Thanks for the input but it doesn't really address the question of how Google updates its PR data.

Re: Different PR on different datacentres
any ideas of when the next update will be, or is it a hold your breath and wait kind of thing?
edit: just found this: http://www.seocompany.ca/pagerank/pa...date-list.html so I guess its just a waiting game
