Re: How to "become a web designer"?

First of all, very good for a beginner, my first few sites were much worse. One thing I would do would be to change the favicon, its a hostmonster logo currently.

The first step to getting good at web design is getting good at graphic design. Maybe make some flyers or posters for some local organizations. Buy adobe photoshop and coral draw and mess around. (Or, like me, the free alternatives: The GIMP and Inkscape) Work on finding colors that go good with eachother (A color wheel always is my inspiration) Find a few websites you like the look of, and ask yourself: What makes this website so eyepleasing?

Remember: Practice makes perfect
