I was speaking (networking to be exact; *shudders*) to a lady today regarding our current businesses, she's recently set up as a
seo consultant. I mentioned that I really have 2 distinct areas I am marketing to - one being my "glamorous work" (as i call it, my 3d stuff - character design and animation, product previz etc) and other areas, aimed at SME's - especially the under represented markets (can't divulge too much info

)
She suggested one domain, i.e. my main domain: pixelforge.net but having 2 distinct sites, one aimed at each market - each
seo'd accordingly. She described this as silo's of information, something that is purported to be viewed highly these days - obvious "silo's" of targeted content in each bin, as opposed to one generic website. In theory this sounds quite simple but thinking about this, how best to achieve this? surely one silo has to take precedence, or do I have, in fact, 3 versions - generic, targetted 1 and targetted 2? Maybe a generic homepage with targetted silos with their own apparent homepages - pixelforge.net/silo1 and pixelforge.net/silo2 maybe?
Cheers in advance guru's
P.S. Its not the current website thats going to be used or the newer idea I posted in the critique section - I'm working on something completely new but want to get the
seo sorted BEFORE I start photoshopping/cssing.
