Really useful tool!

I will bet good money that 99% of the people here have at some point in the past deleted a file that has either not gone to the recycle bin, or you have deleted it from there.

Just did exactly this and found on of the best programs i have seen in a long time. It searches any of your drives for files that you have deleted, and i have used it to recover movie files 700MB big, so HTML or CSS files would be no problem.

Enjoy lol

Re: Really useful tool!

there are literary hundreds of these programmes about, did you not know that anything you chuck in your recycle bin does not get erased from your hard drive ?

what happens is. the data on your hard drive needs to be over written to properly delete it, unless you have a secure delete programme which over writes it with useless information, until that point it is always recoverable by basic applications like this, but people like the police have software that can recover even that for obvious reasons.

Re: Really useful tool!

Yeh i knew that, the information stays on your hard drive until your create more data that overwrites it etc.

Just thought that some members didn't know this, as there was a post a bit ago about someone deleting their css file and wondering if there was a way to get it back as this also works for external hard drives or flash memory such as USB sticks etc.

Re: Really useful tool!

i had a big problem when i deleted my entire php website for my final project at uni, i was looking for a program to recover them but they all seemed crap. There was only 1 that retrieved my files and the code was all over the place!

Someone that appriciates my find lol

For me this has worked very well, I tested it by deleting a copy of my whole site, and it found the whole thing, no errors in the code. Of couse i tried this 20 minutes after deleting it, but most of the time you realise it straight away
