New Website!
Hi all!
I Have created an index page for my new website I am creating for a local band, I Have got the layout sorted, or with something I am happy with, but I just need help on the colour scheme, and what you all think would look good on this website, the colours you see so far are not anything I will be using, was just there while designing. Also as well as the colour scheme could you please suggest any changes that you think necissary to the website. The band are a rock based band (Don't know if this will help in anyway!) I have coded this page, but as I don't have any hosting, and all the free hosting isn't any good for now! I have just left you with a screen shot! I Don't currently like the header at the moment, but I am unsure with which way to go? So any directions on that would be helpful! Thanks for any help! Cracka

Re: New Website!
Hmm, not bad.
The banner needs touching up a bit as its very sharp. Colour schemes for rock bands usualy tend to be dark, with black almost everytime. Try a dark red? or if you like the pink..a dark pink. The layout is quite nice, i like the add box on the left. Good luck. ~Dean |

Re: New Website!
If that's a rock band, then your background color should something heavy or darker. Use 2 color combinations only to have good effect. Your text must be readable. And for the hosting, well honestly, I like free. Try freehostia.com, they offer free web hosting. But if you don't like, then you should go for paid hosting.

Re: New Website!
Banner: try the rock band logo and throw away the band members picture out from there, but keep the black shadow of people things there..!
Cloor Scheme: usually Black, Grey, White.. Dark purple? Eewww...!

Re: New Website!
Their "Logo" sucks, no offence.
Create a new one. |

Re: New Website!
But what if that one is their official logo? You can't ask them to change it right?
Did you create it for them or what???

Re: New Website!
That logo is tough... I'd take the letters of that logo and only use that..
Place the band's name on your design and scrap the green/brown background. As long as you are using the letter/font style, it will relate. That's what I'd do anyway! |

Re: New Website!
Ah, pink...
I agree that black or dark colors is the scheme, great contrast in the pink colors, just make it a darker color. I'm impressed. As for free hosting, I can offer you one for a couple of months from 4egtv.net/hosts/moscow or something like that. PM me if its what you'd like.

Re: New Website!
pink and black, hmm a bit 1980's (mind you, isn't that back in now ?)
Try distressing the look of it a bit, mash it up, paint spills, coffee stains, torn edges etc |

Re: New Website!
Ok thanks for your critique! as I stated above, when I created this website, I was unsure of what colour schemes I could you for this website :S
So as for the pinks, that is just a basic, whilst I decide a colour scheme, so that was my main aim in this critique of my template. Paint spills sounds a good idea to be honest, but what colour colour spills could I use? Because I really am shambolic at colour schemes, so any help in that direction would be hugely helpful! Thanks Cracka
