What email application/service do you use?

More statistical curiosa: What email application/service do you use?

Out of curiosity, what is your favourite email application or service, or which is the one you actually use? Email is (or used to be) a very important part of anyones daily life, so it would be interesting to know.

Personally, I am a Mozilla Thunderbird convert. I've been using it since v1, but only recently did I make the full switch and it coincided with the appearance of Windows Live Mail. I was a die hard Outlook Express (OE) user, but somehow I don't think the boys from Redmond have created anything special with Live Mail. It's kind of a hybrid of OE and the cloggy Outlook, and probably it has snapped up a few features from the most popular apps on the market as well (nothing wrong with that really). So, I dumped MS alltogether and started using Thunderbird exclusively.

I've never been much of a webmail user.

I remember in my old apple powerbook days using Eudora, but the application I preferred back then was a program that I no longer remember the name of...

Re: What email application/service do you use?

Personally I stick to my web browser. I do not like anything that downloads emails to my computer's hard drive without me first declaring I want it downloaded. Also, I need to be able to view my email from multiple machines and its just easier using my browser. I also use my account that comes with my hosting as my primary work email. Seems to work fine for me.

I prefer Squirrel.. I have Horde as an option too, but I just don't like it. Squirrel mail loads faster, and it does the very basic functions I need. If you need to archive I think Horde mail is better.

I have a gmail account for my personal email. It's great for personal email, but i'd never use it for a work adress.

Re: What email application/service do you use?

I use Outlook 2007 at home not only becuase it integrates well with vista (searching, archiving etc) but because it includes some very handy tools for me including calendar and to do's..

Really helps me keep up with Uni etc.

At work we use Lotus Notes 7 which is a massive service connecting the 100 000 staff at my company. It is a very chunky but comprehensive program.

Re: What email application/service do you use?

Yahoo mail is an excellent web mail service. It's fast, reliable and very customisable.

Plus with the new release, it knocks the socks off Live. It's like using Outlook on the internet!
