Re: New Site Style

I'm not trying to be rude but it seems a little childish, IMO. The big fonts and tabs sorta give it that look, then the skyblue and clouds help it. But if that's the look your going for, or you just think I'm totally wrong, then keep going. The layout I can't exactly comment on because there isn't enough there to say anything about.

Re: New Site Style

I don't think it's childish, it reminds me of a lighter version of darkmotion's site.

Re: New Site Style

I'm new so I have no idea who that is May I see it?

And I didn't put into consideration whether or not Sam is a man or woman also, since I've me both male and female with the same name.

EDIT
Samducker: You can also take a real picture of clouds and use a gradient fade on the bottom of the picture. It's come out nice before on other sites I've seen. Just an idea though.

Re: New Site Style

I also like it - it's not a bit childish! As Linda said, it's very web 2.0 and you have to go that way - everyone else has!

Re: New Site Style

As far as I know, web 2.0-style logo is:
Quote:
Simple, glossed, gradient, bright-colored and often came with a slight reflection and a beta sign just like this:

I wonder whether samducker logo fit's in to this criteria?

No that's a typical, boring and more or less sh*t one! Who wants typical? A Web 2.0 logo is a modern, non 90'sish/2000ish logo.

Re: New Site Style

That's my point. So you know what is web 2.0 then! Does samducker's logo fits into that category as you mention earlier his logo is "very web 2.0"...
I don't think so! He must work "harder" to make the thing as a "web 2.0" logo. Currently it's just look like a simple graphic with less "web 2.0" effect, "non modern, non 90'sish/2000ish logo" as you say...
No offense there sanducker Consider them as a positive critique to your logo!

Cheers...
