CSS nav bar

On my site I've got a CSS based navigation bar, just wondering what you all think of it?

Is it alright or is it a bit boring or plain?

I think it will look neater if you made your hover effect the same size as its normal state, other than that i like it, its simple but smart.

I completely agree with danny322.

Also i think that the hover colours should be off-white.

Been messing around with the CSS, i think i have sorted out the different size problem :S

two more things

1. alex, can you recommend a colour code, is the one I've used alright or is there a better "off-white", cant find a code for it?

2. Is there a way to change the colour of the text when hovered over, like i can do with the background?

Yes, you just have to set it in your hover style here:

HTML: Select all

#navigation li a:hover (line 82)
{
background-color: #f5f6ce;
color: #000; /*your hover text color is now black*/
text-decoration: none;
}

Thanks Monie, I had tried that before but when i put

Code: Select all

color: #000000;

in the CSS I'd put it under the backgroundcolor tag and it didn't work, but anyway thanks for that its ok now

If any of you have time could you please take a look at my site again, does it look alright or should I change the colour?

Ok, the color is just fine with me, for now
What I want to see is the footer effect to have that shadowing effect like the one you having in your header!

I'm not big on adding colors that have no relationship to the rest of the design. So I think my choice of hover color would be the gray that you have in your logo.

Lchad - that's actually a good idea, i'll have a look at that, see how it looks.

Monie - That looks really, ill have a go at setting that up, ill post here when iv either done it, or when i need help how to

You've done the header and the content shadowing thing, I think you don't have problem with the footer..
