Can't connect to my server... What do I do?
Hey, I can't connect to my web server once again. This happens all of the time and it's usually a DNS issue with my local host. I have tried disabling all Firewalls, opening up the port it uses (which is uses 23 which is WIERD! cause most use 80...) and everything else I can think of. I can't figure out the problem, as I can view it from any other network except for mine. The host has 0 answers for me and told me to try using another new DNS server, but this still hasn't worked.

I take it you mean via FTP?
Tried a proxy server? using an online free FTP site. www.ftplive.com is good. ~Dean |

Re: Can't connect to my server... What do I do?
I can't FTP, check email, or view anything hosted on that server, it's as if I have been blocked. The biggest problem for me is my email, as I really need to check it every hour but I have been without email for days now. Thanks for the FTP link, I will try to use that for now so that I can get some clients work outputted where they can at least view it even though I can't.
What is wierd is, on my pocket PC I can pull up everything just fine... and it is going through the same router that all the other PCs are going through. I know it is something I did wrong and not the host because it works from every pc other than the ones on my network.

Yeah, I use Firefox, but I can't even ping the server from my network. It's pretty nasty.

Re: Can't connect to my server... What do I do?
Well thats where I was headed at first too... But then I find that I can take a non-networked pc and add it to the network and get on to the server. After about 10 minutes however, I get blocked on that computer as well. I unplugged both router and modem for 30 minutes earlier today and then plugged them back in and had no luck. I also opened up all the forwarding ports and still I cannot ping the server.
I found that if I hard wire a pc to the router though, it seems to bypass this issue... does that help at all?

Re: Can't connect to my server... What do I do?
This issue has been resolved. I had been IPbanned by my host. Still don't understand how I was able to hard wire into the site... but I guess since its fixed, thats all that matters.
Thanks for the help!

Re: Can't connect to my server... What do I do?
I ran a FTP program with an old password. Guess it made an "attack" so to speak on the server trying to figure out the password. I didn't put the two together till I talked to the host guy and asked him if it were possible my IP was banned. Turned out, it was.
