Buy new domain or put in directory?

I am going to be creating a site for PHP tests and scenarios.
Do you think I should buy a new keyword rich domain name or use:
www.alexgeek.co.uk/php-tests-scenarios/
php-test-scenarios.alexgeek.co.uk

I don't mind buying a new domain name but I don't know which would be the best option.
Having a larger site would help right?

Maybe leave it as it is now, get your site online and up and running, then if you feel the need for another domain then you can can't you?

Usually a bad idea as you lose all current PR.

Re: Buy new domain or put in directory?

You can actually use a 301 Redirect (Correct me if I'm wrong on terminology) but I had a site that was a folder of another site and doing well with Google picking it up in searches. Then I bought a domain name and Rob showed me how to redirect it to the new domain name. After a few weeks I deleted the old folder and that solved that problem.

As far as a new domain name... there are extra benefits to having multiple domains linking to your site. By creating a new domain name and linking it to your main site you would be helping yourself out that way.
