Re: What browser?

Lately I've been using mostly Opera (the new beta 9.5 as well), I like it for the notes you can have in a sidebar and transfers that are so easily manageable. Tabs are easily manageable as well and when you open a new tab you have the option of configuring shortcuts to sites that you frequently visit. It's fairly good on web standards.

I like Firefox, but prefer Opera. There are a lot of add-ons for FF, true, that come really handy, but I use them mostly when I am developing, not for browsing.

I haven't touched IE in ages. I just don't like it. On my machine it is also curiously slow. Takes ages to load and the general feel is that it hangs. And the look and feel of it is not my cup of tea.

Now, I *do* use IE, but not IE itself. For long my favourite browser was Maxthon (both v1 and v2) which sits on top of IE, i.e. uses the same engine as IE. But there is no IE feel over it and both versions of the browser (1/2) have a lot of possibilities and ways of configuration that is a joy.

I have also used Flock, but I'm not a Flickr man and I don't blog, so I though I could just as well stick with FF as Flock uses the same engine. I've also occasionally used Safari for Mac, but it doesn't really do it for me. Mac font rendering on a PC is blurry and the greyish look of the browser is a bit depressing. I haven't really tested it enough to give any verdict on how it performs.

That's just about it. Ages ago I used Netscape, IE 3-6, and NeoPlanet.

Cheers.

PS: For development, I use primarily FF and Opera, and then check how things look in IE and Safari.
