The tagline should not be part of a logo. You can add that in after the fact to the website or print material. At this point just start with the business name and something else that refers to painting and decorating. A paint brush is an obvious choice. Not an art paint brush but house painting brush. Maybe a paint swish line or a dotted paint blob...

Thank you, yes this has helped, will have a look around sites and get some ideas, look out for some more easily criticalable logos
