Is it possible to better control changes by Internet Explorer->View->Text Size
Hi have just been made aware of a problem on a couple of websites I am now responsible for. The websites are www.cambridgefootlights.com and www.comfortcafe.co.uk
The problem is that when people use internet explorer's View->Text Size option to alter the text size the layout of the website breaks because the text increases in size by too large an amount. I know I could convert the text sizes to pixels as a quick fix to this bug, but I was wondering if it is possible to control how much the text increases/decreases in size when this option is used? I believe it can be done because the amount the text changes by on different sites is different, I'm just not sure how to control it. |

Re: Is it possible to better control changes by Internet Explorer->View->Text Size
This is an IE bug. The fix is easy.
Specify your font sizes in % not em. For font sizes, 1em = 100%. Strictly speaking, you only need to specify your base font size in percent. But I just use % for all font sizes. |

Thanks for that, however the problem still appears to occur although not as bad as it was.

Re: Is it possible to better control changes by Internet Explorer->View->Text Size
I have been able to modify the stylesheets for www.comfortcafe.co.uk to use min-heights for the div's therefore solving the problem completely.
However I when I try to do this for www.cambridgefootlights.com the layout breaks with the div's pushing one another out of position. |

Looks okay to me. *shrug*
You should try to design pages that will adapt to different text sizes. You can specify dimensions in em units. |
