What should I use?
I have to build a site now that will have a customer picking what types of the extras they would like to have for their big event (weddings, sweet sixteens, school functions, etc.). My customer would like me to categorize all of the extras that they have to offer (we're talking about a couple of hundred here easy) and then have the customer be able to either check off what they want or something like an "Add to cart" feature so that when they are through asking for all that they want they can see in a final summary what they asked for and then email it, along with their vital information (name, address, phone number, email address, date of party, and location). I was at first just considering doing a simple email form and letting JavaScript handle all of the email formatting but then got to thinking that maybe I should incorporate an actual shopping cart instead.
What do you think? If I do go by way of shopping cart, what would be the best one to use for this type of site and how easily can I set it up with the items. I have a four day deadline (I know, not much). Thanks! |

Re: What should I use?
I think you would probably be better off using a simple form. You could incorporate a final summary page in between form submission and the email being sent.
If you want to go down the shopping cart route then by all means. It just feels like you are building a castle when all they need is a house. |

Re: What should I use?
There are a lot of free software about shopping cart like zen cart but if you are a hard coder, then go for it.
