[SOLVED] Trailing Slash in URLs

I'm using mod_rewrite for a site of mine (not completely finished) and I was wondering if search engines will work out that these two urls:

http://xtremecoaster.com/browse
http://xtremecoaster.com/browse/

are the same, or will it consider them seperate pages?

Note, the first url does not redirect to the second, like if I had made a folder called 'browse' because I'm using mod_rewrite.

Cheers, @lun

But that's just it! They both redirect to xtremecoaster.com/home/...

Re: Trailing Slash in URLs

thats because it's not finished, I was only using those urls as an example, my cms is redirecting you away because it's in maintenance mode.

try this page instead:
http://xtremecoaster.com/test
http://xtremecoaster.com/test/

They are the same file, but I'm wondering will the trailing slash make a difference to search engines and make them appear as different pages?

Cheers, @lun

Re: Trailing Slash in URLs

Trailing slash differences, as far as Google goes, will not be penalised for dup content or the like

Re: Trailing Slash in URLs

From experience, I know that Google follows the mod_rewrite instead of indexing the page that it affects...
In other words, it won't cause problems...
