What do you think of them?

Ive never heard about rank being affected but I have 'heard' American servers give a slight edge on speed at peak UK times because it isn't peak time in America.

I don't have any proof for this but it does seem to work out. At 7.30pm my UK accounts sometimes get reaaaly sloooow while my US accounts are fine.

Anyone else know if this is for real or am I feeding myself a placebo?


Also Marc, I think you can have any domain name hosted in any country so the .co.uk thing doesn't make a difference.
Again, just something I heard. Can anyone elaborate?

You may use search option at webhostingtalk.com and come up with lots of threads about each of the hosts you mentioned. Hostgator is being discussed at every forum, with the equal number of negative and positive reviews, I'd stay away from them, as the chances to get into the number of "happy" customers are 50%.
I'd be choosing between Serverpoint.com and Lunarpages.com.
Compare the plans, btw, you haven't mentioned thу requirements you need for your hosting.
Search for coupons that both companies may be offering now, this is something that may as well influence your choice.

i recommend start logic, they are cheap and good, especially the support.
