Re: Russ & Pups
Hey Rakuli, I like the new look with the rounded corners. Gives your site a nicer flow...
Thanks for the info, Mike. I always wondered about navigation and uls too.

Re: Russ & Pups
Nice one Mike. That is a class A explanation!
If there was to be a Web Design Bible, that passage would be in the book of semantics.

Re: Russ & Pups
Thanks for that, I can see how that makes sense now, having them grouped.

Re: Russ & Pups
Mmm, looks much nicer now.
Perhaps the severe black background would be better replaced by a soothing pastel blue. |

Re: Russ & Pups
Nice round corners but I don't like how it has a sort of tab at the bottom. There's no need for it and it looks odd.

Re: Russ & Pups
Yeah, meant to ask you about that... What is it for? A "next page" link or something? If so, then it's a nice idea!

One more thing about your navigation: instead of merely highlighting the "current page" link, remove it altogether, leaving only the text. Keep the same appearance, but remove the <a> element itself. So instead of this:
You've already nullified the href, so it's clear you understand the principle: "never include a link that points to the current page". But it would be better to remove the <a> entirely. For example, in visual browsers, the mouse pointer changes to a hand; this provides a strong, misleading signal that the link can be clicked. Last edited by MikeHopley; Nov 13th, 2007 at 10:08. |

Re: Russ & Pups
yea looks better for the round corners, you can get away with square corners when the colours are closer or blending but with it being black and white its too sharp.
good job. |
