Dual Core or Xeon

I plan to buy a dedi because I need it for my web site with legal adult content. RazorServers.com seems quite good for me but I don't know which dedi to choose - Dual Core or Xeon?
Need your help.
Thanks.

Re: Dual Core or Xeon

Eesh they're cheap! I wonder if they deliver to UK.
The answer depends on what you will require, I think if this site will have a lot of traffic and lots of addons; Xeon. Else get dual-core.

Re: Dual Core or Xeon

They probably don't deliver to the UK because they are a hosting company

I also agree with what Alex said regarding the hardware.

Re: Dual Core or Xeon

Very much depends on whether your site is entirely database driven, if it is and it gets hammered hard go for a xeon, if you get any less than say 4k hits a day and some of the pages/content is static then the dual core machines should be fine.

We are able to host Adult Content on our shared hosting platform. If your interested drop me a pm with your disk and bandwidth requirements and I would be happy to price it up for you.

Re: Dual Core or Xeon

I'd advise you to use Xeon if your web site consumes much CPU and bandwidth. For example, A2hosting.com offers them including a lot of features as well.

I don't really think they are cheap. And the company is USA-based.

You can compare Dual Core and Xeon performance, Dual Core has 80 GB HDD and 512 MB RAM, while Xeon - 250 GB HDD and 1GB RAM.
I recemmend you to have a look at ahosting.biz dedicated hosting deal , their dc are in charlotte and orlando and they offer both Dual Xeon and Dual Xeon Dual Core series.

Do you think it's the reason of price ranges?
