I have set up a test server through Dreamweaver 8.
In the 'Remote Info' and 'Test Server' tabs I have included my ftp login details and the 'Save' box is ticked - however when I close Dreamweaver and then reopen, the login details have been deleted! Is this normal behaviour or am I missing something? |

Re: Dreamweaver Site Management
Sounds like you are doing it right. When the save box is ticked, the info should be saved forever and you should not have to reenter them.
Post a screenshot if you can of your remote screen. |

Re: Dreamweaver Site Management
Your screenshots look fine.
The testing server is only needed if you need to test php/asp type pages. If you are only testing html pages, don't set up the testing server. So when you are testing php/asp, the first line in the testing server should be to select what type of pages, you are testing. At this time you selected none. So you can delete this. Otherwise the advanced tab looks fine for remote. Did you "test". And press done rather than cancel? I'm sure you did!! |

Re: Dreamweaver Site Management
I have got php includes for navigation footer etc so should I select that in 'Server Model' -(it seems to work ok by leaving it as 'None').
And yes I did Click on 'Done' |

Re: Dreamweaver Site Management
Sorry I can't help you..
Maybe try "fixing" the program in your add/remove programs section of the control panel. Or contact DW tech support. |

Re: Dreamweaver Site Management
What's your operating system? I had this problem with DW8 and Vista home premium - I have since upgraded to DW CS 3 and the site manager now works ok. If you do have vista then I believe MS introduced new security measure on Vista which changed the OS remenbered login details making this problem occur on lots of different apps.

Re: Dreamweaver Site Management
I had the same problem for a while before I upgraded to CS3, it may be a bug with that software version. I would try reinstalling or just upgrading if you have the funds available.
