shadow around a whole site

Hello everyone, could someone please help. I have been looking for a tutorial or a good explanation on the best way to create shadow all around my web page. The whole site is contained within 600x800px and sits centred in the browser.

Im not sure where to start in terms of slicing graphics so it works within w3 standards and CSS (no tables). and then nested in a container div.

Could someone help with a tutorial or know of a good tutorial.

The actual shadow comes from a graphics editor, and it's done as a dark outer glow. If you use Photoshop, be sure to set the Blend Mode to Normal and the color to dark: if you don't fix the Blend, it won't be visible. Mess around in Photoshop to explore how you could approach this.

For slicing the images, I sliced the one you provided to give you an example of what can be done with the border.

Nice tutorial there Mike. You'll also need some basic Photoshop skill tho..
or any other image editing application to do the shadow things...!

Image Editing skill will be required, but the shadows are real easy to make... No worries!
