wierdness in IE (surprise, surprise)

I'm using a variation on flyout menus for a page layout which is working fine but on the biography page I want more info to fly out when you hover over something. It works in FF but in IE7 (haven't checked any others) the words 'hover here' appear on the home page if the cursor is in the middle of the window. Can anyone have a look at the page (and source) and tell me why and how to stop it? I won't post the source cos it's long but you can view it easily.

Re: wierdness in IE (surprise, surprise)

On line 134 of your source code you have
Code: Select all
<li><a href="#nogo"><h3>hover here</h3><!--[if gte IE 7]><!--></a><!--<![endif]-->
I guess you will either want to delete the h3 headline or give the text a -9999 so that it's not viewable.

I noticed that yesterday too. But even if you remove that will all those div layers with the text still appear. That is really odd and there is a lot of code to look through

I'm not sure what you mean - if I delete the 'hover here' words people won't know where to hover to get the extra text. Lchad, are you saying give it a z-index of -9999?

Re: wierdness in IE (surprise, surprise)

I tried the -9999 thing and yes, the 'hover here' text isn't viewable when I don't want it to be but then it isn't viewable at all so the whole aditional info pop up thing doesn't work. How can I make it visible when I want to see it and invisible when I don't want to see it?

Re: wierdness in IE (surprise, surprise)

Why not try some different flyout menus which don't cause lots of problems?

Well, I would like to try to create one from scratch but I think the same problem will occur. Do you have any recommendations?

If you are looking for a menu, have a look here: http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/.

That's actually where I got the menu! It's this one:
