Re: Cyber Law Website
I like the idea of this.
I think all laws should be the same on the internet regardless of country.

Re: Cyber Law Website
Can there ever be a cyber law, I doubt it.
Who or what would govern it, how would they get rid of damaging content(porn),how would they monitor it. Do you consider the internet to be a tool or machine, whatever your answer the internet cannot be shut down, infact if you consider the internet a machine then we have created a machine that no single human can shut down. |

Re: Cyber Law Website
There have been several moves to determine which laws apply to the Internet, and there are many differences about the way the law operates in each country around the world. This can lead to different standards and results wherever the law has been applied in cyber issues. For example, we had the ridiculous situation of free speech being threatened in the UK, because of fair comment being written on a blog, but it caused the temporary shutting down of several websites.
I don't think there is a simple answer to this, and it is likely to be confusing and unresolved for some years to come. But I would welcome any website that attempts to document what the situation is worldwide, not just in India, and perhaps it will act as a useful resource when any of us get into legal problems in cyber space. |
