Password protecting pages (.htaccess)
Hi,
Don't know if this is the right catagory for this. I use .htaccess to protect different pages within one of my sites. The site has two different passwords for different areas. The problem is when visitors go from one password protected page to another the have to enter the passwords every time. Is there a way to set passwords to work for the whole session while they are on the site? Please help. Thank you in advance. Fernando Polania www.myunitwebsite.com |

Re: Password protecting pages (.htaccess)
hmm a lot of sites do not recommend .htaccess for password protecting, something about insecurity I think.

Re: Password protecting pages (.htaccess)
Alex, if you go into EDIT then it should have an option to delete post.... If not, try it again.. Usually works

Re: Password protecting pages (.htaccess)
I always thought using .htaccess for passwords was more secure than php.
at university, when we want to access protected pages only available to staff and students, we have to enter our username and password into an .htaccess prompt. If you don't enter the correct username and password as stored in the .htpsswd file, it won't let you in...period and the password is encrypted too |
