Question Help me boggle my noodle please!

A moment of ones time please what what...

I started this site for a client yesterday.
He wants it to look web 2.0 so I have come up with this so far.
My problem is that I keep thinking the look somehow isnt right for a real estate website.

Or am I over-thinking because I have a hangover.
Critiques and suggestions on the look welcome....

Re: Help me boggle my noodle please!

when for the first time i see the website, i thought ur menu is like google adverts ! i think if you change the look of the menu its better.
i think if u choose jpg for image files they look better than gif.
the stroke for logos are too strong.
i think if u make the color richer it will be better...

Re: Help me boggle my noodle please!

Overall I really like it. I like the navigation. The one thing I do not care for is the photo in the top right hand corner. I don't think it's a very attractive home.

I like the search box and I like the 4 pics of teaser homes.
The colors you selected are obviously mediterranean colors but I think the peach shade is a little too wimpy. Maybe a more terracotta or richer peach.

I think you are going in the right direction.

Re: Help me boggle my noodle please!

Thanks marSoul.
I didn't even notice the style of the menu was looking like adwords but you are right.
Point taken into account.

I cant do anything with the logo as this is what the client wants but I do agree with you.
I'll see if he is up for change but I doubt it as this is how he has the logo on other stationary he already uses.

Hmmmmm /*Puts chin on fist and stares at screen thoughtfully*/

I agree :: richer or at least darker colors will make the whole thing stand out more. Also, the labels for the two search form input fields (gray colored ones) are two light... they get 'blended in' with the peachy background. Try making them some shade of orange.

Cheers

By jove I think they've got it...

Cheers Lchad and swagner - deffo hearing you on the 'wimpy' thing. Will sort that out today.
I also agree with the house looking a bit unattractive too.

Good points all round. Thank you very much.
