how the hell is that relevant??!

I'm subscribed to .net and Web Designer

they're both great magazines full of good articles, website case studies and tutorials on coding, flash, photoshop etc.

.net is slightly more geared to the developer side and webdesigner slightly more towards design. but both cover both sectors.

Re: web magazines

There are a few great Graphic Design mags around that cover all areas of design including the web and they also occasionally look at web development topics. They tend to have uncompromising design principles which is always good as I feel that a lot of Web Designers cop out as regards the visuals because they think it is a technical job so they can get away with it.

.net is the best web specific mag about though. It's fully up to date and encourages web standards which is always good to see from a popular publication. It also has some great people on board some of whom are notable in the field and most are web standards advocates. I'm not a massive fan of Web Designer though there are some useful bit's and bobs in there. I read both regularly.

Pete.

Re: web magazines

Are the web magazines worth the money? I have seen them in WHSmith and they seem quite a lot of money

Re: web magazines

They are quite expensive but a lot of magazines seem to have gone up in price quite a bit over the past few years. I think that .net is definitely worth the money, it's only the same price as a pack of fags or a couple of pints. £6 a month isn't too bad but if you like it then you can always subscribe and you will probably save about 30% or something.

Pick one up next time you are in smiths and see for yourself, if you like it/them then it could be the start of something beautiful otherwise you've only wasted £6 or so.

Pete.

Re: web magazines

Although having said that I didn't like the first copy I picked up...it didn't really interest me all thatr much, but I bought about 6 issues and decided that its actually an excellent magazine and am now subscribed.

I think .net is the more professional mag, and more geared towards developement.

But I prefer webdesigner for design stuff. Stuff like computer arts I just can't get into.

Re: web magazines

I'm subscribed to webuser, which isn't a design mag, just a general PC mag and it is great! Very cheap, 1.99 every fortnight (allthough subscribers get a lot off).

Jack

I might try that .net mag.
