Mashed Design! Is it my DIVs or CSS?

http://ebay.110mb.com/test/

I had an attempt at modifying my site when I was tired and realised too late that I had mashed the design.

I would appreciate some help to fix it - I'm sure its just a small error, but I am damned if I can find it.

Thanks in advance :-)

I think he means where the content has dropped down below the left nav.

Re: Mashed Design! Is it my DIVs or CSS?

Thanks Vanessa - spot on.

It is supposed to be three columns in a row, but the centre one and the RH one drop below the first ! :-(

I haven't checked, but do your total pixels maybe add up to more than the total pixel width you set?

Code: Select all
.table {

	width:850px;

/*	min-height:auto;  not valid css  */

	display:table;

}
And inside that div you have
Code: Select all
.table_row {

	min-height:100%;

	display:table-row;

	display: inline;

	float: left;

	width:850px;

}
That doesn't leave too much space for the other 2 columns

Re: Mashed Design! Is it my DIVs or CSS?

Fair comment, but I have just taken the table to 900px and the table row to 100px and I still have the same problem!

Re: Mashed Design! Is it my DIVs or CSS?

You should rearrange your .CSS and your .html code.
Thats why you can't find the error because your CSS is not properly structured!

I didn't mean that your problem comes from your unstructured CSS, What I mean was, when you code your page you have to code it nicely and neatly so that if problem occur in the future you'll be able to find them and trace them at a minimum time without hassel.

Try this link where it teach you how to structure your CSS better.

Analyze, identify and structure

See this thread - Resources for learning how to use CSS for layout

Looking at you CSS, you are still thinking in tables ... with names like table_row and such.

It should be more like: branding, content, sidebar, site info, etc...

The link above has links to examples of CSS layouts.
