this website is designed to advertise a guild on an online game and to provide a method for other players to join the guild 24 hours a day.

the site also provides information on the current guild members.

i am looking mainly for comments on the design, i am given the content to go onto the site, i just arrange it (hopefully nicely). i can however pass on information about the content to those who provide it to me if you notice something odd or something that could be improved.

something to look out for:
i've had problems with the effect at the top of the screen. when you scroll the page the content should fade before it reaches the header then dissapear. can you please tell me if it doesnt for you (if it re-appears etc)

I'll just pop in and say that your navigation suffers from the first-loader-hover-hiccups

Try using 1 image with the 2 states in it and using the background-position property to show the right one.

Looking a little plain.
I'm not really fussed on black backgrounds.
if you're going to have a dark background have it like this colour: #373636

Re: Iris - Last Chaos Guild Website

It's pretty good.

Your little fade thing is neat Except it's screwed in IE6

Only thing I'd say is that you could use lightbox on that image gallery. They wrote a pretty good article on it this month in the newsletter

Oh, and the header graphic could do with a little work. Apart from that it's all good.

Nice to see the CSS layout btw

Re: Iris - Last Chaos Guild Website

i think IE6 doesnt recognise the position:fixed; which was the only way i could get the fade to be in the right place

Re: Iris - Last Chaos Guild Website

IE6 does support the property. Just not very well.

You could try this: http://web.tampabay.rr.com/bmerkey/e...ion-fixed.html

Or use "* html #element {}" This is used to target only IE6 and below. It's great. You just put "* html" before whatever id or class you want to style differently.

You could also post in the CSS forum. See what the real geniuses come up with

Re: Iris - Last Chaos Guild Website

i like the grey colour.

i've had a look at the lightbox thing and i'm not really a big fan. it seems to take a long time to load the images, though it does look very professional.

i'll have to have a think, thanks for the idea though.

Re: Iris - Last Chaos Guild Website

I attached a screen shot. You can see gaps between the buttons and see like a black to white fade behind them, and there's another black to white fade where your normal png is.

Also the header doesn't stick there it scrolls out of the page.

The pngs you've used on the guild page look dodgy too. they are gray instead of transparent. That'll be because IE6 can't handle png transparency if you didn't know.

Re: Iris - Last Chaos Guild Website

lol, no i didnt know about the png transparency.

i'm not too fussed about the header staying there, just so long as it looks relitavely presentable.

thanks for your help
