Trying to design an admin section for fundraising website

I made a website for my dad just over a year ago and it's up and running fine with an image gallery, guestbook etc and I have used my own CMS which I have written myselft based on articles, tutorials etc I have read so it is tailored to our needs.

The basics of the admin section are all working fine such as uploading images to the image gallery, adding, editing and deleting articles etc but I would like some ideas of a design for the "home page" of the admin section. What I have I think is pretty boring even though my dad likes it but I keep improving the site and add more features so I think more features could be added to the admin section such as "Who is signed up for the newsletter" etc. I think I am running out of room to create new tabs so am lookign for ideas.

If anybody has some ideas or screenshots of their admin sections that I could get ideas from that would be great. The website I have done is a fund-raising website for my dad who raises money for a type of school (if you can call it that) for pre-school children with disabilties called Honeylands which is part of the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS trust.
