Is MYSQL free or not ? I am desperate please !

Hello every one,


I am trying to install MYSQL on my Linux Sues 10.0 and have been trying to find and download MYSQL but wherever I find it on line it says either pay or trial 30 days ! I thought I can instal it free but now I am so frustrated because I have been looking for it since last night and yet have not been able to find one.


I would appreciate your help and assistance in this regard please.

You can get it as part of Xampp.
This program combines mysql, phpadmin and an apache web server. I swear by this program...and it is open source...ie....freeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

If you're running linux, you should be able to install the package for it.

Man ... I haven't been on linux in quite a while and the last distro I used was debian

You don't "need" Xampp" ... Linux is already a "server" type of OS so you can install apache and mysql and php and run it........ if my memory serves right
