How many hours does it take you to design a web site?

How many hours does it take you to form an idea for a web site in photoshop (or whatever program you use), be completely satisfied with it, slice it up, and then turn it into HTML code?

I would say that the average site for me is 5 hours but longer or shorter depending on my creativity at the moment. What is it for you?

probably about the same, if you dont include the time with the client beforehand.
depends on detail, complexity, the importance of the graphics, and the overall aim of the site.

The actual designing and nothing else?
i've done nothing major as of yet.
the longest took about 2-3 hours.

Depends really. sometimes it takes longer because the client wants something specific. The design process tends to be is very small compared to the build process. Also I often continue designing during the build time, ie as the site developes, so does the design. I have made some websites in a day and others have taken as long as 6 months.

Re: How many hours does it take you to design a web site?

Somedays I can be really quick and things just fall into place and a mockup can take 2 hours. Then other days, I struggle a bit more and it can take 8 hours. I usually make more than one mockup for a client as well. As Voodoochilli said, I also continue to think of little addons throughout the development process.

Re: How many hours does it take you to design a web site?

Sometimes it's about 5-10 hours, depends how happy I am with it. Sometimes I'll design, not be happy with it, leave it a couple of days then try again.

All depends on my mood and that

Re: How many hours does it take you to design a web site?

I'm more in line with that RobinMarek said ... sometimes I could do it in 3-4 hours ... other times I get designers' block. I work on it for a few hours ... do something else and come back to it later.
