adobe contribute - do I upload the templates too?
Hello gang,
I am building a site with editable regions for a client to edit the site with adobe contribute. Question is, should I upload the templates that the pages have had applied to them, or will the pages be stand alone enough without them? Any comments would be great. cheers |

Re: adobe contribute - do I upload the templates too?
Sorry Gerry, could you clarify - are you talking about the templates that adobe produce that you can use as a base for your sites, or are you talking about templates that you have created for your client?

Re: adobe contribute - do I upload the templates too?
Hi Vanessa,
I had a hunch this wouldn't be the easiest of questions to remain concise with. Sorry. I have created page designs in DW, and saved them as templates for a site (name.dwt) and added editable regions within them (more than one template because they differ slightly across sections of the site) . I then 'apply' the template to a number of pages within the site (using DW), and then add content, within the editable regions, to the specific pages (.htm) . My question is; as well as uploading the pages, do I have to upload the template used (dwt)? (No, it is not templates I have created for the client. (The client will use contribute to edit the editable regions within the specific pages on the site.)) Hope this clarifies things. Many thanks for your help. |

Re: adobe contribute - do I upload the templates too?
Ok, if I'm understanding correctly, then I would say yes, upload the templates, so that the client has a full WYSIWIG view of the page, even though they can only edit certain regions of it.
Someone else might have a better insight though! |

No Gerry, you do not need to upload the dwt file. That's just for your use on your computer. They need the .htm files only.
