photoshop + css

I know there are tonnes of resources on this site and google, but I cant seem to find what im looing for, i guess im not searching with the right terms. Basically, i want to know how you turn a PSD into a full css website.
I assume there are countless tutorials, but havent had any luck as yet. anyone point some out?

Re: photoshop + css

Phixon,

Your best bet is to do what you are likely doing already. Take your completed PSD image and slice the images you need. Then take your html template and use the CSS and insert the images as needed.

There isn't a smooth way to take Photoshop and have it output a CSS layout. It'll just output with bad tables and bad code.

Re: photoshop + css

You need to think of a PSD as a good old pen & paper. You can't output pen & paper automatically to a website right ... you have to code the site by and hand make it "look" as closely as possible to the draft you did on paper.

Same thing with your PSD mock-up ... it's a mock-up. Now you need to get in your HTML editor and start coding it. You shouldn't have too many image. Most of them will be background images.

Post a JPG of your mock-up ... I could explain better

Re: photoshop + css

Karine, from viewing your portfolio, i noticed you had a psd to html section
for example http://www.bytowntrolley.ca/en/

this is the sort of site I was on about. I know how to do this via save for web, but curious about the CSS way
