Slices

I made this really complex image for a template, and I want to slice it up. I could do it with photoshop but but always takes forever and I end up copying and pasting stuff to create the images and everything is a little off. My question: Do any of you know of a program that will easily slice an image up and allow you to make a stack of slices the same size? Thanks.

I use Imageready. It's a separate program that comes with Photoshop and it's whole purpose is slicing and optimizing images for the web.

Otherwise there's Fireworks, which I'm not as fond of.

Oh, that's funny. I've used imageready for rollovers once. I forgot all about it.

Whats even funnier is the fact that I have it and don't ever use it... But then again, I have 20+ Adobe programs, and only use Photoshop.

Whats a fast way to check slice sizes in ImageReady? I need to make a row of buttons all the same size, but they always go off by 1 or 2 pixels and it causes white spaces when I table 'em up!

I differs slightly based on the version you're using. If you open the slice palette there's a dimensions area that shows you the X and Y position of the slice and the width and height.

But if you're making a row of buttons I'd say make one slice that covers all of them, then right click the slice and choose Divide Slice, then you can tell it to divide it into say 5 or 7 equal slices. Then you can adjust the individual slices that it creates if needed. I do this ALL the time and it's pretty fast and easy.
