My point: You must be in the first 2 search pages to get noticed.
I am trying to do SEO for Cratima and XcellenceIT for some time now, and I've tried not only to have the web site #1 at Google for the keywords "Cratima" and "XcellenceIT", but also to have as many presences as I can get in the first page. I think is important to be in the first page, but it is not sufficient. You have to be no 1, and you have to set a target for yourself to occupy the entire first page. Of course , it is best to be well indexed for other keywords, as web design, web development, but this is more difficult, and if you can get your web site in the first or the second page with these keywords, you will be a SEO guru. My questions: Are my ideas correct? Is there a big frontier between the first 3 pages of search results (at google for example) and the rest of them, or not? |

Re: SEO principles (#1, 1st page) by Cratima.
There is a huge difference between getting among the top 3 on the first page, compared to being low down on the first page or at page 2.
I have come across a few people (prospects) who only contact the top 3 on Google. Cratima has a flash intro page. This does not help with getting high ranking on search engines. |

Cratima and XcellenceIT are not keywords. The keywords for your business would be those that describe your product, such as 'integrated systems', 'software development', etc... (as I gather from your frontpage)
Cratima being the name of your company, you should be 1st and 2nd on the results - no questions asked - like this and this and this, which would naturally be the case if you had a static html website with conventional pages. Someone searching for your company's name already knows who you are and are looking specifically for you - so forget about it. SEO is about making potential clients find you via phrases that describe your business. This isn't a luxury, it's a must. It isn't just best to rank highly for these keywords, it's absolutely essential. And no, you don't have to be a SEO guru. The key to SEO (and SEs for that matter) is content. Content content content. One of the aims of SEO is to present your content in a SE friendly way to make the most of it and to achieve this, there are many simple techniques we follow which don't require any in-depth knowledge of SEO. I know you didn't ask for a review, but taking a look at the Google's Index of your website shows you have very little content - when in fact you have a lot of good quality content in a flash animation.
