Talking pre-critique

Hallor
I've designed a new blog and I want some suggestions and critiquing before it's up properly.
at the moment it's not connected to a database so there are no entries and i code/test on a windows system where links are not case sensitive so there may be a few broken links.
When I get some suggestions I'll make the necessary changes then work on changing to host the site on my own server.
Obviously I don't want it in the critique section because it's not ready
cheers guys and gals

Re: pre-critique

P.S. I know the top links bar is extremely ugly, the font comes out huge :/

Re: pre-critique

Set the line-height to 1.5em, reduce the top nav text (#bar a, i think) to 18px and add 10px padding to the side (padding:0 10px add 40px of top-padding to bring the h1 away from the top of its box a little. You have those horizontal bards across the top, above everything else, I'd make the second one a different colour to the nav bar's background.

Generally speaking just think about space, you should be giving your elements lots of space, it's a blog so content is very important. Making sure it is readable should be on of your main priorities. Space makes things easier to read.

I quite like the design, green is a good fresh colour and you've used it well. I also really like the grass background you're using. Really cool.

Good so far, I need more content to really get a feel for it, could you whack in a few paras of lipsum?

Pete.

I got everything except that bit ha.
changing the line height kinda screwed up my borders on the paragraphs, I'll put in some lipsum now

Re: pre-critique

Add the padding to the actual links, not the ul or the div.
