Sliding Bar on Rollover/Rollout
Hey,
Here is a fla file I am working on. I am, trying to get a bar to slide across the text when there is a rollover. Then for it to go the opposite direction on rollout. I saw something similar on flashkit. Slide.fla is mine simplebutton.fla is similar Isolate one of the buttons on simplebutton.fla...I made my timeline similar, but it doesnt seem to anmimate. thanks. P.S. I do not want the graphic to stay in the extended state when pressed, like simplebutton does. I just want a rollover/rollout effect. Last edited by Rick; Aug 25th, 2007 at 19:21. |

Re: Sliding Bar on Rollover/Rollout
Please let me know what I am doing wrong with this attempt.
In the meantime, in my search for a method that I can work with I did find this tutorial. Maybe it will help someone else... http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx20...ton_effect.htm |

Re: Sliding Bar on Rollover/Rollout
The reason yours is not working is because you are missing the code that tells the movieclip what to do on(release) on (rollover) etc.
If you unlock the layers inside of one of the buttons and then select the button object you'll notice this code:
Edit: Make sure your buttons all have instance names that match the code as well. Otherwise the above code won't unless your button names are butt3MC, butt2MC and butt1MC accordingly. Cheers, Scott

Ah thanks, it'd help if I actually did anything to it in the past 6 months. :-)

Re: Sliding Bar on Rollover/Rollout
I believe Scott has one of those 'jobs'. Not sure what they involve but from what he's told me, not much sleep.
I'll probably not bother. Pete. |
